Program faculty react to the German Elections

On Feb. 25, the Program in Contemporary European Politics convened a panel of experts — Markus K. Brunnermeier, Rafaela Dancygier, Caroline Mezger, Jan-Werner Müller and Harold James — to reflect on the German election results. The panelists examined from different viewpoints the causes of the increased polarization in the German federal elections, and of the support for authoritarian parties on the right and on the left, and reflected on the implications for German and European politics in the aftermath of a security and economic crisis.
